About Grateful Heart Comprehensive Veterans Services

Grateful Heart, Comprehensive Veterans Services, Inc., is an innovative 501(c)(3) nonprofit that currently holds a Certificate of Good Standing from the State of Maryland, Department of Assessments and Taxation. Our organization is focused on addressing the unique challenges faced by U.S. Veterans. We recognize that service to our country often comes with lasting physical, emotional, and social impacts.

Our organization was founded on the belief that those who served deserve access to meaningful support systems that promote stability, dignity, and opportunity.

We work directly with Veterans and their families to connect them with resources, provide guidance, and foster a strong network of community support.

Our Founder

Kenneth L. Heyward, MHA

Founder & CEO

With a heart for service and a background of 25 years in Healthcare Administration, Kenneth leads Grateful Heart with strategic vision, operational excellence, and unwavering advocacy for Veterans. As a Veteran himself, Kenneth’s vision extends beyond paperwork. He believes that disability benefits are often the gateway to greater stability — access to healthcare, housing security, financial independence, and restored dignity. Under his leadership, Grateful Heart prioritizes integrity, accountability, and measurable impact while remaining deeply rooted in community partnerships across Prince George’s County and surrounding areas.
